Bio

National Legal commentator and Lafayette Trial Lawyer Daniel Horowitz heads Lawyers in Lafayette.  Daniel has been lead counsel in over 200 jury trials as well as thousands of arbitrations and contested evidentiary hearings. As a legal commentator, Daniel Horowitz has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and all major television networks.  

His cases span the State of California and include multi-million dollar civil lawsuit judgments, death penalty murder trials, and high-profile cases such as the representation of former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Pavel Lazarenko, author Terry McMillan and media personalities such as talk show and podcast host Michael Savage.

His practice is local with the main office in Lafayette, California (Contra Costa County) but the practice is national. Daniel Horowitz has appeared in courtrooms throughout the United States from New York City to San Diego.  Internationally Daniel has appeared in courtrooms in Ukraine, Cyprus, The Netherlands, Canada and Israel.

Daniel Horowitz is active in the Lafayette, California community. Daniel serves on the City of Lafayette Crime Prevention Commission and is a founder and board member of the Lafayette Police Foundation. He is an active supporter of our schools and LPIE. High Profile Cases

You have seen Daniel's success representing high profile clients. He won the lawsuit for Michael Savage that freed his program from TRN and allowed it to skyrocket in national syndication. 

Daniel recently obtained a Protective Order protecting the family of a Major League ballplayer (living in Lafayette) from a threatening stalker. He has been the legal advisor to a prominent sports talk radio show host negotiating his contracts. 

In a high profile case before the Barry Bonds steroid scandal, Daniel successfully represented the person who recovered Barry Bonds 700th home run baseball. Many fans claimed they were entitled to the ball but Daniel won and helped his client obtain $ 810,000 for the ball at auction.

He represented author Terry McMillan in a lawsuit against her ex-husband and her claim that he was extorting her for money under the context of a divorce action.

Daniel's case against the San Francisco Police Department on behalf of its uniformed officers was reported nationally. The case involved a Christmas video meant only police use. The officers made fun of themselves and Mayor Gavin Newsom felt they went over the line. Over 25 police officers were suspended and Daniel Horowitz represented the filmmaker, Officer Andrew Cohen.  The news story was deemed “videogate” and had national news coverage.

When former Ukraine Prime Minister Pavel Lazarenko was accused of corruption, Daniel Horowitz handlled the international side of that case. All charges where Daniel represented the Prime Minister, were dismissed.

His cases against John Muir Hospital have made the front pages of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Daniel Horowitz also represented musician Oksana Grigorieva against actor Mel Gibson. His advocacy led to the conviction of Mel Gibson for criminal battery but his client, Oksana Grigorieva was cleared of all wrongdoing. She obtained millions of dollars in her settlement.   

Daniel has litigated cases against many high profile attorneys on high stakes cases.  (Horowitz video describing being in court against Vice President Harris when she was an Alameda County prosecutor.
